Frequently asked questions

Do I need a referral?
Yes. A referral from your GP or optometrist is required to be eligible for a Medicare rebate on your consultation fees.
How long will I wait for an appointment?
Wait times vary depending on the nature of your condition and the urgency of the referral. Urgent conditions can usually be seen promptly. Please contact our reception for current availability.
Can I request a specific doctor?
Yes, you are welcome to request a specific ophthalmologist. Your GP's referral may also be addressed to a specific doctor within our practice.
Can I bring someone with me?
Absolutely. We encourage patients, especially those having dilating drops, to bring a support person. Your ability to drive can be impacted for 4–6 hours after your pupils are dilated, so it would be beneficial to arrange for someone to drive you home.
Is the practice accessible?
Yes, our consulting rooms are located on the ground floor with full wheelchair access, accessible parking, and disabled toilet facilities.
